A521.1.4.RB - Stories in Your Organization

A common story within my organization (The Boeing Company) is how we (the production engineering) will incorporate and plan for new models of the Boeing 787. We as a production engineering team have incorporated both the -8 and -9 derivative within the last 3 years. Parts of the story use proprietary company information, but the story promote the ideas of the company. We are constantly re-examining our capabilities and processes to ensure that our company is as strong and vital as our heritage. (Company, 2015)
The leadership of my area (Section 47 – fuselage) like to tell the story of how BSC – Boeing South Carolina has the eyes of the more established legacy program plants of the northwest and the competition Airbus watching our progress. And how we are beating all the predictions of the analyst for a facility that employs nontraditional worker, that have no aviation building experience, to build the most technologically advice aircraft in the world. The stories of where we started, where we are at, and where we need to be in the market help describe, "Who we are and what we stand for".  The impact of these stories has not only affected the culture of my organization and work group, but that of the entire plant.
